Tonight we celebrated Lane’s fourth birthday. As usual the Funk and Fisher clans packed out our little house.

Michelle asked Lane what sort of cake he wanted, and when he saw pictures on the Internet of a fire engine cake he decided that was what he wanted.

Of course all the aunts and uncles are ready and willing to help unpack and demonstrate all the new toys.

Lane with his new tractor. I know it is the wrong color, but it was 25% off!!

Well that’s it for birthdays until December. The family laughed when I welcomed everybody to our eighth birthday party. Four for Lane, three for Scott, and one for Bryce makes eight birthdays, right? Whew.

Several of you asked to see pictures of our extended families. Both of these are a couple of years old. This is a photo of my family.

Here is Michelle’s family. This picture is a bit outdated because her oldest sister is now married, and there are four more grandchildren.

Well I have decided to migrate to WordPress. Wordpress seamlessly imported my Blogger account, including old posts, comments, and images. Blogger was giving me all kinds of grief; the RSS feed would not work, and clicking on the monthly archives brought up 404 pages. My only trouble was figuring out how to upload images and files, and was fixed by adjusting permissions on my site folders.
I can tell that I am going to enjoy WordPress way more than Blogger. Everything is completely customizable. Haven’t even begun to discover all the features.

There are four major views on what is known as the biblical teaching concerning the millennium, during which it is said that Christ will reign on earth for one thousand years with those who were killed for his sake during the period of tribulation. This millennial reign of Christ is only mentioned in one passage in scripture, Revelation 20.
Of these four views, the earliest is the position known as historic premillennialism. This position Read the rest of this entry »

I’ve wanted to post these pics a while back but for some reason they wouldn’t post. Now we have two three year olds in the house.

Wednesday started out as a usual day, but turned out to be a special for the boys and I. Mike was off as usual and went to his study. All of a sudden it came to me that he was going to go to a food show that day and we were all going to go with him. After reminding him (of which had slipped his mind) we had breakfast and got the house in order and were off. We dropped Bryce off with his mom. This was a first for Lane and Scott to go to a food show and taste all the latest candy, cookies, etc. on the market and receive pens, pencils, teddy bears, etc… needless to say they had a fun day. On the way home Mike and I did what we love best… stopped at a few thrift stores. A very fun day spent with my hubby!

The Barmen Confession of 1934 was written, as were many other Christian creeds throughout history, at a time of great crisis and to fulfill a perceived need.
The time was the rise of Nazi Germany. One of Hitler’s tactics in gaining the hearts and minds of the German people was to gain control of the German church. His appeals to German history and tradition, as well as his rants about the dangers of aggression from the communists, who were godless and atheistic, must have made German Christians susceptible to the racist and nationalist overtones of his Nazi doctrines (CHI).
