It was nice to enjoy the “first fruits” of the garden this evening. And no we did not eat any yet. The older boys plugged away for all of the 45 minutes it took to shell most of a five-gallon pail of peas. Even Bryce managed to shell a few peas and all of them found their way into the big pail as he hates raw peas.
Here are some pictures.

I just dusted off the cobwebs over on my blogroll and added a few new items. Andrew, PD, Nathan, Kirby, Tom, Jethro, Richard, Dorcas, Mark, Wendell, are a few folks whose online ramblings I find interesting. Here’s an aggregator for IGO student blogs that’s pretty interesting right now.

This month’s free audiobook download at Christian Audio is The Best of John Edwards Sermons. From christianaudio.com:
The Jonathan Edwards trilogy includes three of the most important sermons ever preached on American soil. Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God is maybe the most important and well-known sermon of his, but also included is A Divine and Supernatural Light describing and illuminating what Edwards describes as a supernatural light imparted by God. His farewell sermon was given in June of 1750 and is a commendation to those who are in the Lord’s service, a plea to maintain unity, avoid dissension and false doctrine, and a call to devote themselves to prayer.

I have taken the liberty to copy this in its entirety from Jethro’s blog. I hope that neither he nor Jonathan minds. Edit: Jordan has the PDF version here.
Faith Mennonite High School Commencement Address
to the CLASS OF 2007
by Mr. Sauder
It’s Not All About You!
Congratulations on your hard work, graduates! I have enjoyed my four years with you here and feel quite honored to be the last one to address you before you claim your permanent hall passes.
At the last graduation in which I took part as a student, at another Mennonite school, the administrator told us to accept our diplomas with the understanding that we must seek to lay down our lives for the world, even to the point of shedding our own blood. I would like to pass that commission on to you now.
Tonight I’d like to encourage you to reflect on one statement and three big words: First, the statement: True human freedom is freedom from self-interest and freedom to live in the continuously arriving reality of God’s kingdom. Life is not all about you. It’s all about Jesus.

The twins are at home and doing very well. The parents are smiling too….the hospital bill is paid in full thanks to a generous discount from the hospital and help from friends.
