Great New Audiobooks for Children

March 19th, 2008

The other night we were happy to spend some time with some of our friends who have a graphic design business in their home. Their latest project is producing high quality audio recordings of some children’s books. We bought an audio book version of Benjie, an old book published by Pathway, an Amish publisher.

The children love it. Lane listened to it the entire drive home, laughing at the funny spots. Indeed, when Fern did her wonderful impression of Aunt Mandie, a certain green Dodge Grand Caravan seemed to have trouble traveling in a straight line on the road. The last couple of days they listened to all the CDs again, playing the more exciting chapters twice!

If you want to give a child a great gift you must visit illustra-graphics.com. Click on the “Audio Books” link at the top. You can listen to samples of these books and see for yourself how much fun they are. There are more to come from what I hear.

Don’t miss these wonderful high quality audio books for children. Adults will enjoy them too at least the first time around.

This is my brothers and a friend and I playing Grandfather’s Clock awhile ago. I am reposting this because I was having trouble with the wordpress plugin needed to embed videos.

First Visit to the Dentist!

March 11th, 2008

The other night we saw what looked like several cavities on Scott’s teeth so with a sinking feeling we realized it is time to take the boys to the dentist for the first time.  Our main fear was Scott who basically came unglued when he went to the doctor not long ago.  So Michelle made an appointment for Lane and Scott, promising them lunch at Wendy’s and $1.00 each to spend at Dollar Tree.  I got home from work this afternoon and the house was all aflutter with excitement.  They tell me they were very good and did not cry at all.  Besides the goodies from Mommy the dentist loaded them with little treasures.  Tooth brushes, toothpaste, floss, a football key chain and soccer ball key chain.  The boys had such a good time that they can’t wait to go again (Scott really did have cavities that need to be filled) and Bryce is jealous.
